As we all know that pets like dogs and cats shares a beautiful bond with human since decades. They offer us limitless loyality, unmeasurable love and affection. Human and pets may develop a beautiful relationship by communicating with each other. There are many ways by which they may develop this bond as explained by pet Prime ( the best pet hospital  in Gurugram) .

There are many commands which human can use to make a dog or cat understand like sit, stand, eat, bark, shake hand, salute, roll, go, fetch etc. Before communicating with the pets, we must know about the mood and temperament of the pet whether they are allowing us to communicating with them or not. Firstly we must focus on the pets’ temperament then we should proceed with our commands. Our commands should be loud, clear and specific so that dog can understand them well. Communicating with our dogs, we can make them understand about their basic needs to be done in a good way like making them understand to go out for passing urine or stool or for a walk. We can make dogs understand for doing our many household works as well like newspaper handling etc. if a dog has communicated well then it can be used for army or in other sniffing activities. For this reason, dogs are also used for army forces, police, legal cases etc. Pets specially as dogs and cats are the best human companionas proposed by Pet Prime Veterinary clinic ( best pet clinic in Gurugram). Their companionship also depends on their breed and size. We can communicate a small aged puppy better and in an efficient way as compare to an aged or large sized dogs.

For making your pets happy and healthy, it is very important to take care about their diet as a healthy diet will leads to a better communication and affection. Good and quality time spend with dogs will also develop a good bond between dog owner and dogs. In puppy stage, puppies must be taught about newspaper training for stool and urine so that they understands about hygiene maintenance as suggested by many dog care clinic in Gurugram. Healthy diet is one which includes all the required nutrients. In between meals, treats can be given to dogs and cats for their pampering. Do not add any spices and sugar in the pet’s diet. A proper ration of carbohydrate, protein and fat must be given in the diet for their proper growth.

This is a severe enteric infection caused by Cystoisospora canis in dogs and Cystoisospora felis in cats. This parasite is highly host specific. It mainly happens in immunocompromised animals. Eimera spp. Is not parasitic for both dogs and cats.

Pathogenesis: Affected animals sheds oocytes in the faeces. By feco-oral route these oocytes enter into the host body and complete its life cycle and severely affects body’s immune system and gastrointestinal system.

Pathological signs and symptoms:  Profuse and voluminous watery diarrhea occur in affected dogs and cats. Sometimes blood tinged diarrhea is also observed in affected animals as this parasite may cause sloughing of intestinal mucosa. Severe weakness observed in affected animals. Dehydration may be noticed in affected dogs and cats due to loss of fluid. Affected patients will be immunocompromised and auto reinfection will be observed as noticed by Pet Prime veterinary clinic (Best pet clinic in Gurugram). Abdominal discomfort and inappetence is also observed.

How to diagnose coccidiosis in dogs and cats: For proper diagnosis of coccidiosis, first we have to diagnose the parasite. Parasite can be diagnosed by:

  1. Fecal flotation (preferably centrifugation flotation technique) for oocysts
  2. Direct fluorescent antibody (DFA) assay is a sensitive dual assay (can detect Giardia cysts and Cryptosporidium oocysts very well) and can be performed at reference laboratories or university parasitology laboratories. Cystoisospora oocysts should be 40 𝜇m long whereas cysts of Cryptosporidium are approximately 5 𝜇m diameter.

How to treat coccidiosis in dogs and cats?

Symptomatic treatment should be done with signs and symptoms with specific antiparasitic drugs like Sulfadimethoxine, trimethoprim, sulfadiazine and amprolium. But these antiparasitic drugs have severe side effects if used in over dosage or for long time like amprolium may cause severe neurological signs if use in excess amount for long time whereas sulfadiazine and trimethoprim are potential teratogenic drugs so should be use cautiously as suggested by Dr. Sapna Soni ( CEO at Pet Prime Veterinary clinic, the best pet hospital in Gurugram.

Clindamycin can be used to check secondary bacterial growth. Parmomysin can also be used which is very effective in coccidiosis. Tylosin and azithromycin combination can also be used to treat coccidiosis which has good afficacy. Fluid therapy is recommended to avoid dehydration. Do not use sulfa drugs if affected patient already has any hepatic or renal issues. This disease mainly affects young puppies and kitten and that too mainly immunocompromised one as informed by pet clinic near me.

How to prevent this disease?

Healthy animals should be separated from the affected one as this disease may be life threatening in young and immunocompromised patients. Avoid overcrowding so that reinfection can be prevented.

Depending on the intelligence of dogs it is said that dogs can be more rational than humans. Dogs can sense every emotions better than human as they have good sensation for sensing every emotions as suggested by Pet Prime Veterinary Clinic, a pet clinic in sector 5, Gurgaon. Dogs have specialized sense glands in their nose, brain and tongue which makes them a good sniffer and attentive due to activeness of these sense glands. Dogs also have good decision making capacity if we actually compare it with the decision making capacity of humans. Dogs are more rational than humans if we talk about the general behavior like human interection and other activities. Dogs are more loving in behaviourwise and activitywise. Dogs share a strong bond with kids. They are quite playfull with children. Dogs are able to use logical thought rather than emotions to make decisions ads suggested by many dog care clinic in Gurugram. Dogs are very loyal to human and to other creature of God as well. God has very good sense of smell and hearing which is 100 times more than that of human being so they act as a good guard as compare to human. Dogs has a good sniffing power so they are use in catching criminals in police and army thus dogs are very helpful for human in many ways as dogs helps human in many ways as explained by many veterinary doctor in Gurugram.

If we talk about the caring and loyal behavior of dogs then pet parent can understand this bond very well as compare to those who does not have any pet in their home. Dogs are very caring and loyal for their owners. They has more rational behavior as compare to human. Dogs are the most happy and working companion as suggested by the best vet doctor in Gurugram. Dogs has good vision also due to presence of tapetum membrane in their eyes which enables them to see even in dark and thence make them more rational. Dogs also has good taste receptors but lesser in no. as compare it with humans. Dogs has specific teritary marking behavior by which they mark their teritary and their dominance over other dogs and animals as urine of dogs has specific hormones called pheromones which is recognized by other dogs and animals. Hence dogs are more rational as compare to humans.

Dogs have a behavior of territory marking. They have specialized hormones in  their urine called pheromones which helps in territory marking as this hormone is sniffed by other dog and sense by sense gland thus show the dominancy of another dog in that particular area thus helps in territory marking. So to mark the territory, dogs generally scratch the ground after they pee so that their hormones in urine available at that particular area for longer time and he may dominant over other animals and dogs by marking the territory.

Dogs also scratch the ground for many other reasons other than territory marking like playing with bushes, scratching the nails etc. Dogs show digging behavior after they pee. Sometimes their pee may be infected and may contain harmful bacteria and viruses which must be neutralize by using suitable chemicals so that they do not become any hazard for human being. To make it done, pets should be allowed to go out for passing urine and stool to maintain hygiene at home. But we should also maintain hygiene in the ground and outside as well so that any communicable diseases can be avoided. Some diseases occur due to transmission of pathogens from feco-oral route, nasal route, by inhalation, by ingestion, so we must be aware about the pathogens. We must know all the preventive measures to prevent occurrence of any disease by affecting from pathogens. We must go out by putting our mask on so that inhalation mode of disease transmission can be avoided which has become a necessity now in the pandemic of corona virus (COVID-19) as suggested by Pet Prime veterinary clinic (dog clinic near me). This corona virus can not affect dogs or cats as this virus has specific tendency to affect human only. Likewise corona virus which affects dogs, can not affect human as it has specific tendency for dogs only. So there is no cross resemblance and reactivity has found between these two types of corona viruses i.e. human specific and canine specific as shown and explained by many veterinary clinic in Gurugram.

Dogs also scratch the ground after they pee because they try to maintain hygienic conditions around them. They try to cover their pee with sand or bushes so that hygiene can be maintained. But due to this scratching, sometimes dogs may get tick infestation on their coat from the ground as ticks mainly lays eggs on the ground and complete their life cycle on the dog’s hair coat as suggested by many veterinary hospitals in Gurugram. Then later on these ticks may cause a lot of problems like tick fever, anemia, lethargy, loss of condition etc. Pheromones which are present in the pee of the dogs are very potent hormones which can be recognized by other dogs and then they may realize about the dominancy of the other dog in that particular area as explained by many dog and cat clinic in Gurugram.
